Limassol's commercial property market is booming, with lots of startups and foreign companies choosing Cyprus's sunny southern coast for their base.

I love photographing interiors and I really enjoy shooting commercial interiors, probably ever since I saw how famous American architectural and interiors photographer Julius Shulman made office interiors exciting to look at.

The developer of Penrose 34 wanted the building photographed inside and out. It was important to show the office in situ, as it's in a great central location, so I used my drone to photograph it from above with a view of Limassol's coastline and iconic skyscrapers.

The client was rightly proud of their building, which uses a pleasing mix of materials inside and out. I used strobe lighting on the interiors to help bring out the texture and patterns of materials like marble, metal and wood.

Timing and weather provided some challenges on this project. With tenants moving in pretty much as soon as the contractors were finished there were only a couple of days on which we could shoot - and then we were smothered in dust from the Sahara, making the outside views less blue and glorious than we'd hoped.

Fortunately, the developer and I were flexible and able to work around these challenges and produce a set of images we were both happy with.

The client requested this specific view of the building's facade, and I'm glad they did - it's one of my favourite shots of the building!
